  • My boss sold our fridge.

I work in the warehouse at an industrial foodservice equipment supply company. One of the salesmen took a stroll through the warehouse.

  • this morning and saw our refrigerator, the one we actively use for food and drinks. We use it because it's damaged, AKA unsellable. It's not even an item in our inventory.
  • The salesman got in touch with my supervisor, asking if he could sell it. My supervisor said yes. The customer is coming to pick it up on Monday.
  • I texted my supervisor to confirm that this was happening and he said that we'll get a new one. After discussing with a coworker who spoke to him in person,
  • he actually meant that we would hope a customer returns a fridge or we get another damaged one. So I guess we just don't have a
  • fridge anymore. Even if we do get another fridge, what's stopping it from getting sold like this one?
  • What kind of psycho does this? I know there's nothing I can do about it but this is absolutely insane.
  • Edit: Everyone saying "just bring a cooler" is completely missing the point. My boss selling something out of nowhere that wasn't even for

  • sale, something that the whole team uses on a daily basis, with no replacement, is such a reprehensible betrayal. It goes to show just how little
  • he cares about us, and how he'll roll over and let the other teams walk all over us warehouse guys. This isn't the first time he's pulled the rug out from under us.
  • 5footfilly It's the holiday season. Someone in the sales guy's family probably needs a second fridge and he got them a deal. There's no "customer". At least not a random one.
  • jeharris56 You need to "find" another damaged fridge, another one that can't be sold.
  • fuzzimus Lemme guess. The customer is a friend or family of the sales guy and they're getting a sweet deal on a lightly used fridge.
  • Build68 Guess who's sales are going at the end of the delivery schedule?
  • txmikey51 I worked at an Office Supply and Furniture store. We sold new and used furniture. I was in outside sales and came back from a sales trip and my desk was sold. Twice.
  • Seasons71 Four Boss will probably provide a new fridge fast when everyone stands up and leaves the site at noon sharp every day to go out to lunch for a full hour.

  • Smokedealers84 It is sad and hilarious that a food warehouse service equipment don't have a working fridge in their warehouse...
  • TheLegendofSpeedy This is how the posts in malicious compliance start.
